Every year the New Ulm Lion's Club sponsors a Peace Poster contest. Local judges select first, second and third place winners from Washington Elementary. These students are awarded a monetary prize of $50, $20, and $15 respectively, in the form of New Ulm Chamber Dollars. Unit Objectives:

1. Demonstrate the use of colored pencil techniques: primarily color blending and shading
2. Create a Peace Poster using the theme "Our World, Our Future"
3. Write an artist statement
