In Kindergarten we read the book The Little White Owl. The Kindergartners noticed that the owls in this book were very colorful with different patterns on their bellies. After reading the book, they made their own 3D owl sculptures!

So glad you like the Owls! Sadly I'm not quite sure what the eyes were. Some type of wooden bead. The other art teacher I work with had a TON of them. We get all kinds of fun "stuff" that parents and other teachers are looking to get rid of :) I'm sure you could find them at any craft store.
